Scary Stories
Old Dog says,
“It seems that our culture and country is so commonly oriented toward, “worst case scenarios”. (There are opportunities for encouragement for healing and building confidence in our immune system. )
There are some practitioners of the medical industry, who tell us how long we going to live and focus on what is primarily wrong with us. Some teachers judge only on whether a student answered right or wrong rather than developing the growth of an individual and some clergy accent the shame and sin more than building spiritual relations.
They are good people but our culture, our way of thinking traps us and leads us down paths whether they serve us well or not. These paths of thinking and action are more like familiar, bad habits.
Times of intense emotional storm
Then, again a Man commonly shares with his best man what has become a cliche for each of them, “Do you think Stephen King ever writes a story so scary that he can not go to sleep.” This is a reminder of being conscious that how we talk to ourself is important. Just as important as whether telling fear focused stories to a small child at bedtime that give them nightmares is wise.

“We live in many emotional "time zones”. One of these is when we experience things as a “little boy or little girl”. It is prudent and kind to reset our emotional watch to the proper time zone. To know when to feel like a child, but act as an adult. To know when to lie to ourselves and say, "Everything is going to be OK and also prepare for the worse.
